I finished a sock using my self-dyed yarn and I'm still working on the first skein of yummy koigu for the dappled leaf scarf. The purple and blue sock has been done for awhile, but still has no mate...

Smokey Bolero
This weekend has been very productive. I checked a lot of things off of my "ToDo" list: oil change, switch license plates, unpack clothes, go to beach... and finish the Smokey Bolero!!! There was a lot of ends to weave in and a couple seams to sew.
But it was easy enough to do. I blocked this little baby with a nice hot steamy iron and voila!

Front.
Yay! I really like it. I haven't taken it off since I finished it. Very comfy. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of this FO. It's a great little shoulder warmer over tanks. I had to improvise the number of stitches to pick up around the front and back edges, but it turned out all right. Okey dokey. I hope everyone had a great weekend! ♥
Specs:
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cathay Lilac 15
Pattern: Fiery Bolero from Interweave Knits Summer 2005

Hello.
I finished the front band of the bolero. I think it looks pretty cute. I pinned it together and tried it on... It fits really well!! The end is near on this one... I can feel it. ♥

Flash the stash.
Hello. My name is Amanda. I am addicted to yarn.
I was unpacking some boxes from the move and decided it would be a good time to take stock of the stash, reassess, and rearrange. I started to arrange according to fiber, so I thought that was pretty cool. I like my stash. It's pretty... But it's bigger than it should be. Last time I counted, I had 15,238yds of yarn. That's more than 9.5mi of yarn. Phew. I'm not going to go on a yarn diet or anything, but I seriously have some yarn from a LONG time ago that has yet to be knit. I also have 3 socks without mates. Maybe, I'm not a sock knitter. But I'm going to keep trying.
Now that I have all my yarn out of storage, I can refocus on some projects that were pushed to the wayside. Reprioritize. Ya know? A lot of this yarn is for scarves to give as gifts. It would be nice to always have a gift scarf on the needles and maybe there wouldn't be such a scramble at Christmas. My stash has such potential. I get all excited... and overwhelmed... by all the knitting projects marinating in there. Sweaters, hats, scarves, socks, mittens, shawls... all waiting to take shape.

Well here it is all put away. It's a good thing yarn is compactable. It squishes very nicely into plastic bags and into wicker baskets. On the left on the floor by the couch there are two baskets; one for current projects with room for inspiration yarn (for upcoming projects) and one for scarf yarn. The rest of the stash is tucked away nice and neat on the shelves of the computer desk. Nice.
Also, I have been knitting. Miss Smokey Bolero has half a front trim. The ribbing is actually going very quickly with the short rows and all. I really like this yarn. Wonderful blend of stuff that Debbie Bliss Cathay. I especially like the shimmer the touch of silk gives. OK. To bed I said. ♥

Far from done.
I have finished the main body of the Bolero. But I am far from done. Miles of ribbing to go. I can't wait to block the body of the sweater because there are some even-ness issues in my knitting... My toes are there in the pictures to stop the back from curling.
Miles of stockinette with interesting shaping.P.S. I switched to Haloscan and lost all the previous comments I had... I think. Anyone know how to recover them?

Long overdue...
HI! It's been awhile. But that's because I was moving and I didn't have internet access at my apartment until now. I was going to post a bunch of new photos of my knitting and my apartment, but I have misplaced my transfer cable for my camera. So I will post a picture of the Turqouise Wave shawl in action. Hi Kaitlin!Doesn't she look lovely with the matching shoes and everything!!! :) More pictures to come soon. ♥

:)
Look at the beautiful flowers Eric sent me!
Thank you baby! I love you so much!
I have been busy. The movers delivered my furniture and boxes. It is overwhelming to say the least.
I did recover my knitting on the Smoky Bolero and I am now knitting the left front. Sorry no pictures of the progress. Must sleep now... 5:30am will come way too quickly. ♥

Doot.
Thanks for all the nice comments on Pink Lacey. It's fun to finish things that turn out just as you pictured them in your head. I'm especially proud that I made up the pattern as I went along. So thanks again. :)
I'm working on getting the Smoky Bolero back on track. I re-knit the sleeve increases and triple checked that I correctly accomplished them. I also started a garter stitch scarf for completely mindless knitting on large needles. Aren't the stripes fun! Yummy sherbet. Mmm.

And on a completely unrelated note... did you know that they make white chocolate M&Ms? Check out the website... It has something to do with Pirates of the Caribbean. They are pretty good, but I prefer the milk chocolate variety. Wow. I'm tired. Good night. ♥
